Małopolska IT Park
Your place to be
The answer of Kraków Technology Park (KTP) to the civilisational challenges of the future is Małopolska Information Technology Park (MITP). The MITP will be the centre for developing new ideas and technologies. A cluster of ICT companies. The testing ground for the open innovation ideas. A platform for collaboration of the academic, business, and administration circles. The centre operating for the smart city of the future.
Economy comes first. Smart development of our cities comes first. From now on. New technologies come first. From this day. Intelligent, digital solutions. For everyone.
Your place to be!
MITP – new economy hub in Małopolska
It is not a coincidence that Pychowice was selected the site of the Małopolska Information Technology Park. It is here that one of the most modern business and science centres is being developed: the Centre for new economy. University premises systematically developed in the campus of the Jagiellonian University are the next door neighbours of Ericpol, Onet, Motorola, and Siemens. Perceiving the potential of this space, Kraków Technology Park, together with its partners, builds here a new economy hub, which will find Małopolska Information Technology Park a platform for collaboration, the incubator of ideas, and the laboratory to have them verified – a true centre of the new economy.
MITP platform, or let’s do it together
Invited to participate in the creation of the MITP are both those who have “only” an idea for business and those who have already started a company and try to develop their brands and projects. MITP will provide space for large businesses and recognised global names. They are the ones to provide the necessary know-how. They will make sure that the laboratories are furnished and equipped with the technological solutions of tomorrow, powerful servers, and vast memory resources. They will build the datacentre and digital platforms. Moreover, they will modify them, develop and adjust to the needs of the MITP community. Intellectual support will come from scientists and experts. We have received declarations of co-operation from the AGH University of Science and Technology, the Jagiellonian University, and Kraków University of Technology (PK). The golden triangle will be complete thanks to the collaboration – all within the MITP platform – with the administration, namely, central, and local and regional governments. It is administration that holds the money and defines the strategy of development of Małopolska cities and regions. The technologies developed by the MITP businesses will not fall into a void. They will solve problems of residents that local authorities have identified, and entered into strategies. Business – science – administration will build the creative community of the MITP.
Open innovations: the MITP view
We have our way of defining the key notions in new economy. The open innovation model makes it possible for small businesses to develop technologies dynamically, thanks to access to tools, products, knowledge, and experience of large IT corporations.
In MITP we go a step further. We build a creative space, where IT giants meet start-ups. The space where ideas are turned into practical solutions, and inventions make it to the market. Collaboration that lets everyone gain: scientists implement the research they conduct, young entrepreneurs commercialise their concepts, large businesses develop products, and local authorities solve the problems of residents.
The model of open innovation in MITP is more than just back-office technology, there is also the model of managing the creative environment, whose broadly understood business interest includes, commercialisation of research and collaboration connected to the development of technologies and their products.
Smart city: the future of our cities originates in the MITP
The idea of smart city is a challenge for local and regional authorities, urban planners, and creators of public space. The race for the name of the inhabitant-friendly city will be won by these local authorities that will decide to use the whole potential vested in modern technologies. The fundamental principle of contemporary cities is the optimum adjustment of their operation to collective and individual needs of the residents. A modern city must be smart.
Fast development of metropolises – Kraków included – generates plenty of problems that need solving. Transportation, energy, healthcare, education, and quality of the environment are only a handful of civilisation challenges that we must stand up to. The dynamically developing urbanisation is a hallmark of the contemporary world.
Małopolska Information Technology Park, will become the place to develop ideas and projects connected to the smart city concept. Equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and laboratories, the MITP will manage the future of Małopolska cities.
You know what – we know how
Kraków Technology Park opened its technology incubator six years ago. In it, we developed good conditions for the business development of technological ideas born in the hands of graduates of Kraków institutions of higher education. We watched their ideas come true in real economy. Thanks to these experiences, we know that Poland’s greatest capital is vested in the heads of the young. We understood that the young know “what to do”, and the role of the Kraków Technology Park is to tell them “how to do” it. Małopolska Information Technology Park will be another, more refined tool serving the development of Małopolska modern economy. The MITP is our answer to the challenges that the future is certain to bring.
The total cost of investment amounts to PLN108,765,952.13, of which PLN89,465,489.00 are the eligible costs. The project is developed from the European Regional Development Fund, as a part of the Innovation Economy Operational Programme, Measure 5.3.
